The refresh rate swings from 1Hz for the Always-On screen up to 120Hz. Replacement panels that lock to 60Hz look acceptable at a glance and then break Always-On, so we do not fit them.
Dynamic Island sensor transfer
The Face ID dot projector and flood illuminator live in the display cutout and are paired to your phone. They come across to the new panel by hand, which is the step that keeps Face ID alive.
Action button and USB-C stay untouched
